Abstract
Implementation of Social Guidance is an activity that needs to be
carried out in the rehabilitation process for children in conflict with the law
(ABH). In implementing social guidance, it is necessary to pay attention to three
aspects according to Tohirin, namely environmental socialization,
environmental adaptation and social interaction. This research aims to
describe and analyze: (1) the characteristics of the informants, (2) the
implementation of social guidance towards ABH in the aspect of ability to
socialize with their environment, (3) the implementation of social guidance
towards ABH in the aspect of adaptability, (4) the implementation of social
guidance towards ABH in the aspect of social interaction abilities. This study
used descriptive qualitative method. The data source used was a purposive
technique to determine five informants consisting of 3 ABH, 1 social worker and
1 social counselor. In collecting data, in-depth interview techniques,
observation and documentation studies were used. The research results show
that children learn to socialize well, adapt their behavior to social rules, and
build confidence in their future. However, there are still challenges in dealing
with children's emotions, honesty and anxiety regarding past problems. The
closeness between social workers/social counselors and children is very
important to increase the effectiveness of social guidance. Recommendations
for the program "Improving Skills in Social Guidance for ABH" are proposed to
improve the implementation of social guidance and child rehabilitation
outcomes at the Jakarta Handayani Center.
