Abstract

Social support is verbal or non-verbal assistance, advice, attention,


care, a sense of belonging, appreciation, real assistance or behavior provided


by others in their social environment, both individuals and groups. This study


aims to obtain an overview of: 1) emotional support, 2) instrumental support,


3) informative support, and 4) appreciation support for respondents. The


method used in this research is quantitative method with descriptive survey.


The sources used are primary and secondary sources. The population in this


study were 115 elderly beneficiary families of the Family Hope Program in


Tanggulwelahan Village, Besuki District, Tulungagung Regency. The sampling


technique in this study was simple random sampling with a sample size of 53


respondents. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and


documentation studies. The research instrument used is a rating scale. The


validity test used is face validity and the validity test uses SPSS Version 25,


and the reliability test uses Cronbach's Alpha with the results of 0.886> 0.600


(highly reliable). The results showed that the social support received by


elderly PKH beneficiary families in Tanggulwelahan Village was high. In the


aspect of appreciation support, it has the lowest total score compared to


other aspects of social support. Therefore, a program “Increasing the Capacity


of Elderly Families through Elderly Family Development” is proposed


through counseling activities, social assistance planning, and procurement of


social activities. This research needs coordination with various parties so that


the results of the research can be used for the evaluation of the Family Hope


Program and the proposed program can prevent ongoing problems
