Abstract
Preparedness refers to a series of activities carried out before a
disaster occurs to anticipate disasters and reduce risks in disaster-prone areas
through appropriate and efficient steps. This study contains an overview of
household preparedness for facing the potential for an earthquake on the
Lembang Fault in Ciburial Village. This study aims to obtain an empirical
description of: 1) knowledge and attitudes; 2) plans for emergencies; 3) disaster
warning systems; and 4) resource mobilization capacity. The method used is
quantitative research with a descriptive survey. The research population is the
head of household who lives in RW 10 Ciburial Village. The sampling technique
used is simple random sampling. The data collection techniques used were: 1)
questionnaires; and 2) documentation studies. The measuring instrument used
is a Guttman scale. Validity test using advance validity and reliability test using
Cronbach's alpha (α) The results of research using descriptive statistical data
analysis The results of a study of 122 heads of household indicated that
household preparedness were in the unprepared category. The results are seen
from the parameters of knowledge and attitudes, which are in the almost ready
category, and the other three parameters, namely the emergency planning
parameters, disaster warning system parameters, and resource mobilization
parameters, are in the not ready category. Based on the results of this research
and analysis for its feasibility using a SWOT analysis, a program was designed
to increase community preparedness in Ciburial Village, namely the CITA
MASIGA (Ciburial Tough Community Ready Alert) program. This program uses
the method of community work with activities installing disaster signs,
counseling on preparedness, establishing disaster-aware community forums,
and conducting simulations and training.
