Keberfungsian Organisasi Karang Taruna di Desa Situraja Kecamatan Situraja Kabupaten Sumedang

Abstract

Situraja Village in Sumedang Regency already has an Karang Taruna organization, but its programs are not yet running optimally. Based on the results of interviews with Situraja Village officials, the activities of Karang Taruna Lingga Medal Organization that have been running are only activities of the Village Sports Week and the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to obtain an overview of the implementation of the functioning of the Karang Taruna organization in Situraja Village. The approach used in this research is a mixed approach between qualitative and quantitative (mixed methods research design), with an explanatory design. The subjects are research; the management and/or members of the Karang Taruna Organization and Village officials in Situraja Village, with a total sample of 40 peoples. The research findings indicate that the Karang Taruna of Situraja Village already has a Articles of Association, Management Structure and Work Program. The functioning of the Karang Taruna organization is divided into 3 aspects: 1) Less function in the implementation of education and training for the community.2) Sufficiently functions, in: Implementing Social Welfare Business, organizing community empowerment, organizing entrepreneurial spirit development activities, planting understanding, fostering and increasing awareness of social responsibility to create youth, Fostering creativity in creating youth, Organizing referrals, mentoring, and social advocacy for people social welfare issues, Strengthening communication network systems, cooperation, information and partnerships with various other sectors. 3) It is very functional in cultivating and developing the spirit of togetherness, family spirit, social solidarity, and assessing the value of wisdom within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
